To keep useful posts from an X (Twitter) thread, open the specific post and share or paste its permalink into Nostos. On desktop, open that link and use the extension's Save page action. A thread contains several posts: saving its opening link does not establish that every post and reply was captured.
Choose the opening post or a particular reply
Save the opening post as a lead when you want to return to the discussion. When you need a specific argument, open the post containing it and save that post's own link. A reply by another participant needs its own source and attribution.
| Goal | Link to copy | Check after saving |
|---|---|---|
| Return to the thread later | Opening post's permalink | Correct author and discussion |
| Keep one step in a thread | Post explaining that step | Whether the needed text was captured |
| Keep another participant's reply | That reply's permalink | Reply author and surrounding context |
Copy the link from the specific post's share menu in X. A homepage, search page or profile is not a substitute. A post URL normally contains a status path and a post identifier; use that as a clue, not an instruction to invent or edit identifiers.
Save the link on your phone
- Open the target post in X and copy its link.
- Use the link-pasting entry when adding content in Nostos. If Nostos appears in the system share sheet, sharing the link is another option.
- Open the saved item and check its title, original link and acquired text.
- If only a link is available, keep it as a source lead rather than treating it as a full-text copy.
For several useful arguments, save their individual links. Retain each author's attribution when revisiting them. Being part of one thread does not make different views a single conclusion.
Save from desktop Chrome
Open the specific post's link in Chrome, confirm the source is accessible, and choose Save page in Nostos. Connect a destination first if needed, then inspect Save activity. See the Chrome-to-iPhone guide for setup and sync states.
This workflow uses links and Save page. It does not require a thread-preview control, reply selection or conversation import. If several posts appear together on the page, inspect the saved result instead of equating the visible reply count with the captured count.
Establish what was actually saved
Open the result, follow its original link and check the text, author and images you need. Treat a title, description or cover as that material only. A video cover is not playable media, and an opening post's body is not the entire thread.
If another reply is missing, open it in X and save its own link separately. If the target post's body is missing, confirm normal source access and inspect processing. Login restrictions, hidden replies and deleted content have no complete-capture guarantee.
Retrieve it later and keep the scope clear
If you remember an argument but not a title, follow the recovery workflow for material already saved, then verify context at the original link. This guide does not import every X bookmark or promise a complete discussion archive. For other sources, see saving social posts.
