Tutorials from SSPAI, reviews on Douban and buying experiences from SMZDM can support one task, such as researching a workflow or comparing a purchase. Save the specific article and its provenance, then retrieve it by purpose. A website homepage is not a substitute for an article.

The exact desktop action

Nostos extension save controls

Actual extension UI with example data. Identifies controls; does not demonstrate successful source capture or upload.

Open the article body and choose Save page in the Nostos extension. Click Save to to open Settings when changing destination. Afterward, use the clock icon for Save activity. A general article does not use Import favorites, which is for supported Xiaohongshu and Zhihu collection pages.

An example: research a purchase

Suppose you are comparing an e-reader. An SSPAI tutorial might explain a workflow, an SMZDM article might describe a purchase, and a Douban review might discuss reading experience. They support one decision but contain different evidence. Keep each source and distinguish how it works, what that writer experienced, and whether your needs match. This is an organizing example, not a product recommendation.

Check for truncated text

Compare the first paragraph, one section heading and the final paragraph against the source. Check code indentation where relevant and retain attribution for quotations. If the result stops at a “show more” control, expand the readable source content and save again.

Material Keep Recheck
Tutorial Steps and applicable software version Whether the current interface still matches
Review or journal Author and subject Whether opinion is being mistaken for fact
Buying experience Conditions, advantages and limitations Current price, stock and promotion dates
News Source, event and original date Whether later reporting changes the conclusion

Find the article after saving

If the title is forgotten, use the clue-based recovery workflow to check your library and narrow candidates. If a definite body word cannot be found, follow the body-search check to separate missing capture from retrieval.

When only a preview remains

If the body requires login, has not fully loaded or shows verification, restore normal source access before saving. Treat a title and abstract as a preview rather than a full article. The same rule applies to news articles: saving a link does not grant access to paid content.
